It’s Only Rock & Roll Spring Benefit Concert with Cheap Trick
Michelangelo’s Photography had the privilege of working with Executive Caterers at Landerhaven as an event photographer for this year’s “It’s Only Rock & Roll Spring Benefit Concert” featuring Cheap Trick as the headliner.
Cheap Trick has been gracing the music scene with their catchy lyrics and upbeat rock sound for nearly 40 years. The band has attributed their success to having a truly unparalleled passion to making music. They love writing and performing and sharing their songs with all those who listen.
On April 8th of this year, the band’s original members, Rick Nielsen, Robin Zander, Tom Petersson, and Bun E. Carlos had the honor of being inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame after being eligible for the title for 13 years.
They also had the privilege of headlining this year’s annual Rock & Roll Hall of Fame’s “It’s Only Rock & Roll Spring Benefit Concert.” While this was not their first performance at a Rock & Roll Hall of Fame event, it was their first time performing as inductees.
Over 5,500 attendees from across the globe participated in the international fundraising event at the Public Hall in Cleveland. Michelangelo’s event photographers captured fans singing along and dancing to the lively music from the mezzanine seats and enjoying dining on delicious meals and sipping on mouthwatering drinks from the exclusive VIP tables. All that came to the event felt an overwhelming sense of accomplishment for benefiting the cause of the museum.
Proceeds from the benefit concert go to support the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame’s educational programs such as “Rockin’ the Schools” and the “Toddler Rock Program.” These programs serve to educate more nearly 30,000 youths and adults in the Cleveland area about the impact rock and roll has made in the world in terms of culture, politics, and society.
Fine arts are an incredible form of expression and rock music is no different. Whether the lyrics and messages of the songs regard relationships, personal empowerment and growth, or the freedom to stand up for a cause; each and every song can influence individuals in a different way. The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame’s education programs serve to instill this form of expression into its students. As a leading Cleveland event photography company, we have a heartfelt connection to these programs.
Cheap Trick proved in their performance at the event that fame has not wavered their sound. The band played new and old songs, pouring their passion and skill into each and every one. The band was genuinely honored to be performing at the event. When Zander shared that the band was privileged to be performing that night, the sincerity was evident to all those in attendance. It was fitting that Cheap Trick was able to express their gratitude for music at an event raising money to educate others on the impact rock and roll has on society.
